Flyotech uses a native, non-pest species of fly to turn organic wastes into value-added products. We are working to develop a ocean-safe fish feed using the larvae of the Black Soldier Fly for the protein component, replacing the unsustainable, unethical harvest of menhaden.
Our process also removes organic wastes, which can be up to 50% of the total volume of the solid waste disposed of in landfills. In the landfill, this waste would break down into the greenhouse gas methane and simply continue to clog up an already overtaxed system.
Our system releases no methane and leaves behind only valuable compost. Instead of wasting our high-nutrient “garbage”, Flyotech turns it into the next round of inputs to help keep our world fed, clean, and green.
It’s just good sense.
